My grandfather was a collector of antiques and artwork, and I inherited some of his collection several years ago. I travel extensively for work, so I decided it was best to put the items I inherited in storage for the foreseeable future. I realised I didn't know anything about how to store fragile items safely, and I didn't want to risk damaging any of my grandfather's much-loved collection, so I spent time researching how to safely store oil and watercolour paintings, china, silver and glassware for extended periods of time. I found the topic interesting, and I started this blog to chronicle my experience of taking ownership and responsibility for the collection I inherited and share what I've learned about storing fragile items. I hope you find my blog useful.
